For those of you who havent yet taken the HSV / Monaro to Nurburg you must.

We had an absolute blast and the good news is that both of us who took our VXR's found the brakes were easily up to the job, i did not notice any fade unlike the CV8 I took last time.

The track is superb fun in one of our v8 monsters

Its only about a 4.5 hour drive from Calais..

Then you weren't driving fast enough LOL!

Brilliant fun isn't it, was Sabine there or did you go to her bar?

yes she is always there, but was not passed by her this time.

that is more to our relative starting positions than any comment about my driving.

there was a bike racing meet on at the new track, so the circuit was full of very fast bikers - several of whom fell off on Sunday. One of whom I saw running up and down the armco trying to find where his bike had gone (I guess it comersaulted the armco)

I had fun there myself. No super times. Just trying to leave the luggage in the boot and the Girlfriends screams at a minimum.

It is brilliant fun, I only lost it 4 times over 16 laps. One was very sideways and when I caught it I hit my head on the roof! Thanks to Ben for organising the trip.

Managed to reach 120+ on one of the downhill sections , ware out one of my tyres (was a bit low anyway) and curb a wheel in the car park . Was even overtaken by a Seat Cupra .

Make sure you take lots of brave pills...

Anyone up for another cruse this year, how about the 19th and 20th of August?

Sounds good, Nige has posted on this subject before and I think a few people were interested.....

Where do we buy these 'brave pills' from then?.

there are some lovely views in the area also

imagine this scenario, Dorint hotel is at top of 60ft slope at 40 degrees. driving up it minding my own business in the Monaro...

at top of slope is tall, slim, tanned, long blonde haired german lass, in v short dress -who decides to bend over to search thoroughly through her suitcase.

All I can think of is perhaps she was trying to find the knickers she appeared to have forgotten to put on?

You should CREAM the 840ci. If you think CV8 brakes arent up to the job...sheeesh. 8 series are positively scary for a go-vs-whoa mismatch.
