Old Air-con

An old topic that has been abused I know (sorry) but that I am finding difficult to resolve. My '89 944 has the old R12 system, and was last re-gassed with R49 (well before I got it). It is now (desperately!!!) time for a re-gas, but I am struggling to find anyone who will do an R49 (or R24 which will also apparently do the trick) re-gas. Short of an expensive conversion, do any of you know of someone who could help?
