Touch wood, I've not yet broken down with the GT3 on the road - except for

a) a close run rediculous situation where I'd mistakenly not fixed the coolant cap true and was spouting coolant out, but was not far from a garage to do a temporary water 'top-up' after letting the engine cool.

b) rear near side wheel dropping to 16 PSI after going over a nail, but being very lucky to again be close to a garage to do a quick increase of tyre pressure and limp a mile to a porsche dealer.

With the low ride, does Porsche Assist have additional benefits of dealing with low ride cars vs the horrors of a 'local to incident' RAC/AA pickup truck?

Should it be the default option for GT3's, are there alternatives or am I mad being with RAC currently...... Is the service as 'responsive' as the others?

Porsche Assistance - a service provided by the RAC! Its an RAC van that turns up and you get standard RAC treatment - which is pretty good for the most part.

Differences are repair is guaranteed to be at an OPC. Only Porsche bits used etc.

My view is - it comes free with the car. Then it comes free with the extended warranty.

Otherwise I'd just use the RAC...

Porsche Assist is, as pointed out, contracted out to the RAC. Had some experience of their service the other weekend. Arrived at inlaws in Hampshire with the coolant light flashing and (when I looked) coolant dripping out from under the front of the car. Decided it's likely to be a leaking rad so left it over night then called for relay Sunday lunchtime. Explained the problem, explained that there was no easy access to the rads and that I'd need a relay vehicle rather than a man with a spanner and this was no problem. Truck arrived within 20 mins to collect us.

Topped up and drove the car to the dealer on Mon am (it would not have made the 100+ mile trip back home). Got the car back on Tue pm. Turns out the rad must have been hit by something (debris?) on the trip down to Hants. It was shown to me and was a bit bashed up.

Edited to say: Just read original post and yes, the relay chap had wooden ramps to get the car onto the truck.

I had Porsche assist flat bed come out for the RS. No way the car could get on it, so I ended up limping home.

Can you take the splitter off? Would that have worked?
