Question about 997 keys
Discussion
Erm.. what is up with the crappy plastic keys that you get with a 997...? Porsche is about cool design, engineering achievement, etc and then they give you this badly molded piece of black/grey nasty plastic..
Apart from the design gripe, the key will no doubt eat its way through all of my suit trouser pockets over the next few months due to not being able to fold the metal part away. Have noticed that for the Cayenne Porsche produce a 'fold-away' type of key with all the same functionalities.
Before I embarrass myself with OPC, are these keys available for 997s? If not, can a Cayenne key be programmed for a 997? Anybody done it?
Cheers.

I agree.
A good friend (known as "Hitler" for reasons which are soon to be apparent) recently kebabed a testicle on his car key by sitting down quickly with it in his trouser pocket. He had to have the bloody remains of it removed surgically.
I therefore now obsessively wrap thew key for the 996 in my hankerchief before putting it in my pocket.
Those "folding keys" are a blimming good idea. Ask Hitler.
