New forums?

Right I have my preferences set to my favorite forums. But I post the odd thread
and people tell me that the a similer thead has been posted on a forum that i was not aware of a few months or weeks before.

Is there anyway that people ( and myself) can be aware of changes int he forums so we do not post re-posts with out having to do a search every time I want to post soemthing
