Does anyone know of any tyre makes that are great for road use, but can be extra good for track? Also what sort of tread etc? I currently have 17's on my MG ZR and will be going tracking soon which is why im after some good tyres

Thanks, if you need anymore info, please let me know

Dunlop DO1J are quite good, there is now a new pattern that is sligthly (albeit overall still poor) better in the wet. The Dunlop Sport Maxx are the more road friendly alternative alongside with the Michelin Super Sport (very sound tyre, standard on European delivery BMW CSL for example). All are available in 17" in various dimensions.

For pure track use, I'd go for the DO1J.

a048s will aquaplane in standing water, but will offer good grip in wet and dry, once up to temperature, same goes for most of these semi slick types really. Can't speak for a048s directly but recommend you are careful when they are cold, as generally, grippier compounds dont work at all well until hot. I had a set of dunlop R's and they were way less grippy than standard road yokos when cold, but way better when up to temp

Dont think you can get the D01's anymore as they have made way for the D02's Great tyre with loads of grip!! just not so great in the wet!!!!!!

yoko A021-r are a specific wet tyre, but i think they would dissintegrate on a track. If you plan on road use only then bingo, the ideal tyre
check it out on the yoko site (is there one?), and take a look at A032 too, similar deal
