Views on the Cheapest 911 with OPC warranty?

Thoughts on your question.....
If you're going to buy a 'cheap' 996 , you'll be needing to get it checked out to eliminate the 'pup' factor.
If you're spending money on a check , why not use the opc check?
If you do this you're most of the way towards a warranty , ergo, no need to pay a premium for one already warrantied , and it'll most likely provide you with a few glitches which you can then beat the seller over the head with.

. Agreed, if you're looking for the cheapest then you won't get the best though. These cars reward TLC. A cheap car will ned work and is unlikely to pass the OPC warranty check without some jobs doing.
Obviously if your budget is limited then best bet is to find a good car in your price range and then make it a condition of purchase that the car passes 111 point inperction and get the £725 knocked off the price to pay for the first month warranty. That said there was a 996 Carrera at OPC just before I bought mine (eighteen months ago) which was up at £31,995 - safest bet by a mile.

You can get a '98 100k plus on the odo 996 for very low 20's if the history is scant.
Add another couple of grand and do a bit of searching and you can find much lower mileage cars (up to say '99-'00) privately ..
I bought my '99 last October with 43k on the clock , full OPC history , kept banging the dealer on the head til he sold it for £27k ... I really don't think they've dropped a whole pile in value since then ... I must stress though that my preferred colour combo sells badly hence the low price for a indy dealer.

'Cheap' (IM...Humble...O) is a word that doesn't really sit well with 911's......
You may be able to get a good deal if you work hard, but don't try and find a 'cheap' 911, or if you do, be prepared for future expense. With the very odd exception, you will get what you pay for. My own budget kept creeping upwards and in the end I paid just over mid 30's, but I got a fantastic car privately and it had 10 months Warrantly left on it. Take your time and don't rush. Work out what's most important to you and try to stay on target! The Porsche Warranty floats some people's boats and sinks others. IMO it's nice to have it as a back up and you know that should anything majorly mechanical (or small and rubber and circular....) decide to give up the ghost, you're covered.
It always helps re-sale too if you keep it going.

I get slated on here for buying from an OPC (I bought the cheapest car in the network at £38k a couple of years ago) buty I haven't once regretted it. It's had well over £10,000 of warranty work done f.o.c and has been nothing but a pleasure and privilege to own.
You can get a good car cheaper, buying privately or from a specialist, but the latter has a slightly higher risk IMHO or the former is riskier still.
It's a risk/reward thing.
I couldn't afford to take a risk, so I paid more to remove that risk. I reckon I paid about £3k over the odds for the car, but I am now £7k up on where I would have been if I'd bought privately.
If you have to scrimp for a 911 then IMHO it might be a good idea to save a few months longer and get the right car. If they go wrong then they cost a BOMB to sort out.
