Hi, as I am new to the forum please forgive me if this topic has been covered before but can anyone advise on best replacement tyres for 2001 Boxster S? Currently fitted with 17 inch wheels and Pirelli P Zero. I was wondering if these are best or if someone has tried different with better results. Not intending to go on track so for regular road use.
Many thanks

Michelin Pilot Sport. Excellent wet and dry grip. Very hard wearing - even with what I do to them.

I've had the Pirellis and they were perfectly OK but I do prefer the Michelins.

Expensive, mind.

I will probably look into some Toyos at some point as I DO track the car.

Most people stick with one brand as the fronts and rears tend to wear out at different times.

However, if you are changing all four, ask your OPC for the current 'N-Rated' list of tyres for your car. The OE tyres were normally Continental, Pirelli, Michelin although I think there may be others in 'N-spec'.

Then shop around for the best price for supply and fit. Make sure that you choose a really good fitter and, ideally have a proper four wheel digital geometry check done at the same time. Might be best to take advice on this forum for a good recommendation.

I got a set from black circles for my Boxster S for 640 inc fitting. Was pretty impressed by that. I'd highly recommend their service.

Many thanks. Really helpful advice. As the fronts are OK is it Ok to put Michelin Pilots on the rear and leave the Pirellis on the front until worn down?

SO2's, not SO2A's if you can still get them. on a Boxster.

..another vote for Michelin. Pirelli`s are good but you need two sets to every one set of Pilot Sports!
