I am currently pondering a pur chase of the GT3 in the Edinburgh OPC and have a reasonable deal on the table. I wanted to know if the previous owner of the car frequents this forum? I understand that if he does he now has a GT3 RS. Would really appreciate a little history if anyone could help as its a 2 owner car with less than 6k on the clock. Owner one was Porsche UK, so that adds to my nervousness..

Thanks in advance!

When I was looking at GT3s recently the OPC bloke told me many of them were OPC owned from new and thrashed around racetracks a bit. I think he was trying to use that tack to convince me how nice his was. I thought well that's what they're for, and it'd be nice to get a car for once in my life that was already run in rather than some tight, never been revved up garage queen

I had that one out for a drive and was a bit suspicious that it needed wishbone bushes at such a low mileage. I think its seen some track action for sure but seemed fine, nice car if a tad pricey as there's similar in other OPCs for less

How did you establish that it needed wishbone bushes? Was there some unusual handling trait?

The car drove and handled fine, it just clunked a bit when the car came to rest. I mentioned it to the salesman and he said it was due to have the bushes replaced. Suggests to me that the suspension's had a couple of good workouts in its 6k miles

It was probably used as a demo car on the track for OPC Edinburgh or part of driver training at a circuit, hence the heavy suspension use. I wonder how many tyres it has had?!

I think you will find that most GT3/RS's have been on the track and I would be worried if they said anything different. Ask the guy's in Edinburgh about the history see if you can speak to the previous owner????

Clunk could also be the anti-roll bar not being correctly set in its mount and knocking off the chassis - this isn't an uncommon problem which has no actual effect on the driving and can easily be corrected for half an hours labour.

have you asked to see the log book, just get name and address from that and call 118118. I am sure prev owner wouldn't mind.

I plan to do that. I know his name and I have checked the history.
