Hi - I'm new to the Porsche forum.

Have been looking for a while at a classic porsche to use as my regular car. I work from home and don't do too many miles a week (and we have the family diesel for the hard slog journeys). Recently purchased a Fiesta ST as it was the right money to tide me over while i considered options.

Thought about doing the Chesil route, but have really started to get interested in a 911 3.2 Carrera Sport. Strikes me as a bit more practical (can fit my hubby and son inside) and hopefully fan those 80s dreams....

any thoughts on something better or if this is a good route to go?

I run an 82' SC which is a good starting point although they say go for the later 3.2 carrera they look the same but enjoy some of the more
gin palace delights such as later gear box (G50)
assisted clutch power seats and such if that turns you on

they all seem pretty reliable as long as you allow a grand a year to stay on top of little niggles, and get them fixed promptly
they are after all not a car to run and shy away from the bills when they come in

have you seen any that take your eye anywhere yet
