I got caught in a flash storm on Saturday afternoon and being in the middle of a journey through the country had little option to continue. As I came up to flooded areas of the road I crawled through so the wake was as small as possible.

Thing is, where are the air intakes on these cars or rather how much water can you get where and get away with?

Ben

PS. Car is fine - just "wondered"

The intake has a plastic laberynth type baffle behind the external plastic to help prevent fag butts, small children and other such debris into the airbox. The airbox itself sits quite high up and the water would then have to get right up to the inlet mainfold, which sits above the engine before it could pour into the engine itself. You'd need pretty deep water I guess... I shouldn't try it though... Buy a submarine...
