Anyone got a radar detector that didnt cost the earth and does a good job?
What about the ones that you have to update with downloads, I suppose they only do fixed cameras?

Get a copy of this month's evo - it's got a good review of various licence protection systems, including detectors and GPS-based system.
They recommend the Road Angel.

I'd take a blue i or even better a Snooper S6-R Neo. Chap is selling one on as neither can be mounted super cleanly (they both have sockets on the side so you can see wires+they need to be taken out the car for updating). Still if you can put up with that, this chaps would be a bargain as he bought it, realised he couldn't fit it as nicely as he wanted and is selling.

Its for sale on the forsale here I think, but heres the original post :

Ok here's the deal.
For those of you that haven't read the other thread, I cannot mount this in a satifactory manner in my Porsche, I wanted to do an extremely neat "looks like it was fitted at the factory" job but mainly due to space restrictions in the car it can't be done.
So I have the following for sale:
Brand new boxed Snooper S6-R Neo.
This cost me £450, to add to it's value, I have paid the one-off £100 fee so all downloads for updating the database as often as you like is free, for the next two and a half years.

Now please, don't tell me how cheap you/I could have got one from Joe Bloggs...etc etc etc...anyone want to make me a sensible offer?
