Anyone here previously own it or know who did?

Any problems with warranty on ex-Jersey cars? They're considered UK spec?

Can I rely on an OPC to give an honest account of the imfamous PCCB's during a PPI? The OPC is not selling it so at least no conflict of interest there!

I had OPC Swindon carry out a PDI on a Mark 1 GT3 I recentley acquired. It sailed through and I obtained a warrenty immediately but when I discussed OPC selling it for me, suprise suprise, it needed £6,000 of work to bring it up to their standards. I guess if they are to carry out the PDI, request they do it to OPC standards. Great car though!!

Good luck.

Cheers Jonny, sounds typical.

I had a Mk1 GT3 CS for 2 yrs before and it was great. Been thinking about replacing my RS6 with a 996 TT (and still not ruled one out) but then got to thinking that a Mk2 GT3 with normal sports seats (instead of buckets) is still a reasonably practical daily driver.........until I hit a bumpy B road at least.

If anyone is looking for an RS6 saloon or Noble M400........

It's easy to establish the condition of PCCB brakes. Look closely at the disks themselves. If they are cool, run your finger across the disk surface. It should be smooth to the touch with little or no pitting.

What mileage does the car have? Mine is now at 22k and the original PCCB disks and pads are fine with pad wear of 50% front 20% rear. The front disks have very slight pitting. The rears look like new. I've done several trackdays in the car this year and the braking performance is excellent, dramatically better than the standard steel brakes.

I wouldn't loose a lot of sleep over PCCB in any case. It costs £2.5K to fit Alcons or Brembo's front and rear to a Mk II GT3 (retaining the original calipers) if and when your PCCB disks finally do expire. In the grand scheme of things this isn't such a big deal.

On another note, make sure you get a Porsche Extended Warranty. Costs £725+VAT. That'll cover you for engine, gearbox etc and includes breakdown insurance - not that you'll need it

Thanks, it's a July 03 car with 14,000 miles.....I won't lose too much sleep over the PCCB's and happy to give them a go. Just want to avoid getting hit with a bill for replacing to steels too soon.

Yup, plan is to get it OPC inspected and take up the Porsche extended warranty. Maybe it'll also help negotiate some more money off as I shouldn't really need any warranty from selling dealer then (and still covered by Sale of Goods Act, I guess).
