HELP NIP and only 7 days to cort date!
Discussion
Please excuse my ignorance in these matters but I have a NIP for speeding! (my first!) which in the police officers witness statement (typed) my name is mis-splet twice, both times diffrently!
Also at the bottom of the statement the PC has signed the form, but there is no signature for the "Signature witnessed by"
Also, the offence was commited on 17/03/06. I did not recieve the Summons until 06/07/06.
just wondering if there is any grounds for getting off on a technicality??
Thanks,
Ian

In a police statement we do not need the witness signiture.
In a witness statement usually the officer taking the statement will sign.
Any statement can be typed.
The name will be down to clerical error and will be accepted in court if indeed you are the defendant.
The dates dont really matter, you could get it adjurned for more time. Summons can be produced within the 6 month period but a suitable date may not be allocated untill later.
