On the local radio news this morning, deaths on Northants roads have apparently already hit the same figure as for the whole of last year (42 IIRC). The local SCP spokesman said he couldn't understand why the figures have increased so much, especially when he's noted that most of the deaths occured on clear roads in fine conditions.

Who's going to be first to point them to the SafeSpeed website?

So the figures have gone up in Northants AGAIN... I don't think they've dropped since the current climate of speed enforcement started...

Similar thing happened in Cheshire last year.

Obviously there needs to be even more speed cameras.

Hmm, No idea why.. I mean, with Speed Cameras on the roads I feel safe.....How on earth can people Possibly still crash when they are within the limit, as we know, speeding is the cause in 115% of crashes.

If people are still crashing at speeds within the speed limit then *obviously* the limits are too high for the average driver to cope with, so they'll have to be lowered.

AFAIR Northants is dreadful for Scameras, whenever I'm through there they seem to litter the place.

"People aren't paying attention any more, thanks to you and your kind, you stupid muppet"

(Aimed at SCP pratt, not hallmark, before I get into trouble)

Joe Public (or my working example... the mother-in-law) seems to firmly belive that if she tootles along at <speed limit> watching the speedo like a hawk then if she hits someone it's going to be kind of like a cartoon. Person will be A-Ok and walk off perhaps some harsh words, but neither the person she's hit or her car will be seriously damaged.

She'd also like to see more 'traffic calming' measures used including the bane of the emergency services... speed humps, as well as reducing speed limits due to all the deaths. Yet she hates speed cameras with a passion. Joe Public.... even more hypocritical then me on a good day it seems.
