Carrera 3.2 N rated road tyres??

Does anybody have any recomendations for N rated tyres for the Carrera 3.2?
It's an '89 and runs on 6" & 8" rims with 205/55 & 225/50 ZR16's.
It came with Fulda Extremos and I can't say I'm impressed with them in the wet. Car can easilly and unexpectedly wheelspins when moderately powering out of slow speed corners - so far corrected with measured panic! Not so bad at high speed, but even cornering on slow motorway joining bends, say 70ish in the wet, I always feel like we're on ice and daren't let up. In the dry they're great.
Anyone tried the lower cost Falkens?
