It is a fair distance from Les Gets - it is in the Areches-Beaufort area, to the south west of Mont Blanc. Amazing riding - a lot more Natural feeling (and quieter) that Les Gets.

guided tour type thing, or you just turn up with a map?
sounds good though... so much riding to do. so little time.

We had a guide - absolutely essential round those parts as it is a much quieter area that Les Gets and there is little in the way of marked trails (or chair lifts). Because of this you're dependent on a guide and a man in a van for uplifting, although weirdly the area also has a pretty good bus service that's equipped with bike rack trailers so you could get about a bit.

But all of this also means the trails are incredible deserted ribbons of bonkers technical singletrack which somehow still flow (for the most part). It is the best week's riding I've ever had (and I've been to quite a lot of places and used to be a guide in Morzine - it tops all of them)

Built up into summer "Alpine" spec, with 160mm of travel at both ends from a RSPike / CCBDair combo, and back on the fat "super gravity" flavour tyres. Just got to decide if i'm going to stick with the 32 tooth chain ring or chicken out and get a 30 tooth one for the climbing?? ;-)

Pikes for the downs 36 for the climb, pump it dude
Chair Lift for the ups! Even better!! ;-)

Not as exotic/expensive as some of the bikes here, but picked up a Carrera Fury last week:

It was in the sale as Halfords are switching over to 27.5" for Carrera's and got another 20% off with various discount codes, credit card cash back and British cycling membership (final total a smidge under £400).

Really enjoying riding it compared to my old Saracen - air forks are a revelation!

ooooh so close to finishing my latest build, just waiting on a OneUP 42t dinner plate sprocket, and a Raceface NarrowWide 32t for the 1x10 setup.

Popped out yesterday to get a protective cover for my iPhone and ended up coming home with this. Last years model but who cares, brand new and £800 off the rrp.
My first MTB in 20 years.

Toe straps on an MTB - really ?!?

Nice bike but lose the toe-straps and they can be lethal to your ankles and knees.

Her indoors has bought a new racer. She may have upgraded the wheels too. Trumps mine with 11 speed Di2 Ultegra.

Picked up my new Boardman Pro Carbon SLR this weekend. Bit of a bargain, with 20% off all bikes, 10% British cycling discount, 10% off by paying with vouchers, £60 off for spending over £600 and 3% cashback through Quidco. All combined brings the price in well under £1100 - not bad for a full Ultegra 7.5kg Carbon road bike...

Photo was taken about an hour after I picked it up. Straps went after about 10 mins - clips went as soon as I had a spanner that fitted (left it at home when I went for the shakedown ride).

Just tell her to be careful when going past gaps in hedges when there is a crosswind, those Mavics can be like sails.

If you think the Mavic's act like sails.....

Still need to find a comfy saddle...the Fizik is the best so far but still end up a bit raw.

For all you Supersix riders - I'm considering buying one. Previously had a Planet X road carbon pro.

Just how comfy are the Supersix's to ride? I'm getting conflicting reports via google so thought I'd ask on here.

Very, mine is the evo six evo ultegra, so it is not the fancy Hi mod. Had it for four weeks and it is very comfortable so far. Much more so than my Aluminium Trek.

There is a good review here:
