They are a world apart from the standard wheels and the best £300 i've spent. They are stiff and solid on rough roads, they roll much faster and as result my average speed has increased by 2-3 mph. In short I love them
Upgrading wheels will not increase your speed by 2-3 mph. Any speed improvements you're seeing are due putting more effort in or because you're cycling an easier route or in more favourable weather conditions. I'm an advocate of wheel upgrades, but principally for their superior 'feel' and their aesthetics.yonex said:
So it's all done. Quick spin, very chuffed. Best thing I can say is that I didn't notice it, just got on with riding. di2 is mega, always slagged it off but it makes mechanical shifting feel archaic.
Bit of a faff with the mech adaptor, needed 'adjusting'
The paint is great...
I've got the serious wants for one of these. Best do-it-all bike in the world?Bit of a faff with the mech adaptor, needed 'adjusting'

This came up as a bargain locally, Marin Wolf Ridge, fairly good spec.
Having rode it a couple of times realised it was too small, much regret & cursing ensued, annoyed I'd wasted so much money when I already had a couple of decent bikes. But browsing Ebay:
After a couple of evenings work - bike that fits me. Have even sold the original frame & shock with the buyer now interested in the original stem & bars.
Because this is a used bike, I won't feel so bad about getting it dirty.

This arrived in the post for me yesterday!
Scott Spark 720.
I only got into cycling at the beginning of this year after being persuaded by a mate and started out with a BTwin rockrider 560 handrail from decathlon which I will be keeping as it is a very good bike in its own right.
However, the more I've been doing it the further off road ive been going and after a trip to a local trial centre I decided to give a full suspension bike a go.
Tried a couple at local bike shops but after finding this online at a very attractive price I decided to take the plunge as I didn't think they would around at that price for long.
It was a bit of a gamble as I had never even sat on a spark before but after just 20 miles I can honestly say I am over the moon with it.
I did a bit of reading on forums etc beforehand about full sus vs hardtail with very differing opinions but the difference this makes over the the kind of terrain I like to ride is incredible. The only issue I've noticed is slight bobbing when climbing if the suspension is open but as it has a handy switch on the handlebars to instantly switch between fully open, traction and fully locked it isn't an issue.
Made up with it,and can't wait to get out on it again over the weekend!
Cheers.
