Im one of the admin team for www.swsmarties.co.uk and we need to find a new Bristol venue for our once monthly meet up. Numbers are from 5 up to 50, it varies every time.

Can anyone suggest somewhere within the greater Bristol area which serves good food and also bar snacks for those who dont want to spoil their Sunday roast. Obviously somewhere that has a car park and a garden, plus is reasonably child friendly (we get a sprog come along every now and again).

Thanks,

Tony

The Riverside in Saltford has been mentioned a few times, good carpark & nice to sit outside on a warm day, the Bath rd road works may be a pain though. Did you all used to meet in the Upton inn?

The Compass Inn, Tormarton (J18 M4) has a good sized carpark, outside seating and serves food and beer. The Westfield Owners club use it for their meets I think.

We did all meet at The Upton Inn, however the menu on a sunday is geared to proper sunday lunches and not snacks and a number of people didnt really want full meals. In addition its a PITA for newbies to find! Otherwise, The Upton Inn is excellent.

Will go and investigate The Riverside, thanks for the tip. Anyone got any more, poss more Bristol way?

Did we meet you at Redwood lodge just before the car show on the downs? There was a chap there saying about the smat meet at the Upton & we have always ment to go but one thing or another got in the way.

Places closer to Bristol, maybe the Pumphouse by the cumberland basin, The cottage, that has a reasonable car park but not in view of the Pub though or another place is the pub at the end of the long Ashton bypass, come off at the end as though to go to Long Ashton & its on the right, cant think of the name but good parking & nice food.

Not guilty! Dunno who that would have been though

Thanks for the other suggestions. You'll have to come along once it's all sorted - then we can blame you

Yup we'll pop along! The chap was a big guy, he reminded me of the Big bloke with the moustache in American Chopper, has a smart for two with lots of custom bits.

See ya soon

Been there a few times, car park isnt that big but for a heard of smarts you may be ok, good proper pub food, nice place. Not to far away though is the Lock n weir & The Chequers Inn down on the river, plenty of parking there. If its a nice day then you cant beat it sitting out side by the river. If the weather is good the Lock n weir often have a barbq on the go, try the ostrich burgers.. yum

We (Westfield Club Bristol & Bath area) used to meet in the Compass, but a few years ago moved to the Crown at Old Sodbury. This is just up the A46 from M4 J18 and has an even larger car park.
