Hi chaps. Just come across this forum having been posting on the Porsche forum for last few years.

Had my 2003 GT I-Drive stolen a couple of weeks ago following a shed break-in (heavy duty mortice-locked shed but jemmied/crowbarred/damaged to gain access). Bike had a load of accessories and upgrades (Magura hydraulic disks, RST rear shock, Deore groupset, carbon bar ends & bits) so quite unique spec. Police thought that might help in spotting/recovering it but I'm resigned to not seeing it again...

Insurance have paid out (and I have fortified the shed) but question is what to get now? Want a F/S and disks but am unsure of going down the second-hand route or getting a clearance '06 model over the next few weeks. Am pondering the 2006 GT I-Drive 5 3.0 for about £850 (more or less a like-for-like replacement).

Any ideas/suggestions?

Thanks,
Weasel

I am sure there will be someone along who will be able to tell you what deals are available where. In the meantime I would say that now is the ideal time to get a 2006 model year bike as the new seasons bikes are just being released.
Pauls cycles in Norfolk have some good deals on Treks, GT'S and Giant.
There will be lots of offers around, the only issue is deciding what bike suits you best. I bought at this time last year and saved a few hundred pounds on a bike I had been intending to buy at full price, not realising the new models were coming out.

Thanks. Price I quoted above is for an '06 model (almost half price).
