I'm looking for an alternative warranty provider for my 2000 996 Carrera Cabriolet. I know that the official Porsche warranty is probably superior but the idea of taking my car into an OPC for the pre-warranty inspection and being handed a huge list of problems for me to rectify prior to them offering warranty isn't a pleasant one lol!

So, who has an independant warranty?????

Warranty Direct no longer appear to cover Porsche and the odd one or two that I have found limit claims to a tiny amount - unless your paying a rediculous premium.

Advice welcomed

In my experience, OPC only wanted the warranted items to be fixed. I would be amazed if a warranty provider would put a warranty on an item it is sure would need replacing in a year??

Point taken.

Lol...I would still like to hear from people who have third part warranties. And from who they obtained them?? I'm having difficulty finding a company who will even quote for a Porsche. Things must have changed, I don't recall having such problems in the past.

Thanks
Mark

I think the Official Porsche Warranty is the only one that would add value to your car if you wanted to sell it. And, of course, once in place, it is automatically renewable each year.

I shall probably have to bite the bullet...maybe will call into my OPC in Cardiff tomorrow for a chat.
