D'oh! Seems that I somehow didn't manage to put the handbrake on properly in the Alfa last night.

Bit of a problem as our driveway is quite steeply sloped.

Awoke this morning to find the car ½ way across the road after having pushed the gates open the "wrong" way.
As the gates aren't happy opening outwards, one of them was trapped against the side of the car leaving a lovely scratch / rub mark along most of the nearside.

Any recommendations for a decent (yet cheap!) repairer?

Always leave your car in gear!

(That's what the Policeman said anyway, after breathalysing me and before they pulled my runaway Audi out of the VW Golf).

Someone else had this happen to them on Sunday 20th! In a smart you're meant to lock them in reverse as a security feature. http://oliverwhittaker6200.fotopic.ne

The Chipsawat guy in Bath is fantastic. There are 2 in Bath, you don't want the chap who is based at Brassmill lane (if using yell.com to find the number). The other chap is a mobile chipsaway operator.

I used the Chipsaway in Crews Hole earlier this year and unfortunately they did a rubbish job. They rubbed down the area and sprayed it while there was still loads of dust in the air so it all got trapped in the paint and ended up looking like pebbledash

judge You have a two year guarantee, give the guy a call and tell him your not happy with the finish. The fact that there was dust in the air would not affect the finish as the paint goes on almost dry.

If you wish any further infomation please email me direct and I will try to help you out.

I've sold the car now so it doesn't matter now. I'll just not use them again as their work wasn't up to my standards.
