Thorsby last Moday TVR Trident
Discussion
Is it a TVR trident or just a Trident? As I understand it the design was sold and built by a man who was a former TVR dealer. Aren't there only 3 or 4 real TVR Tridents. It is the right colour though, so I suppose it is the real deal.

Neil Lefley, Martin Lilley and myself had an ineresting conversation regarding TVR Tridents at the Crich meeting. Neil owned and restored Martin's Trident convertible a few years ago and subsequently sold it to a Belgian enthusiast. Another, also resides in Belgium and the other is still in the USA, so that's all four TVR Tridents accounted for.
It was the Trident that the Lilley's intended to build when they bought what was left of TVR Engineering back in 1965 but, as we know, Bill Last did a deal with the receivers and the rest is history.

Still rebuilding the history. Some progress made on number 2,
I'll try another plea for info on the car, is there any info in the archives or hidden secret places?
As the Belgian bureaucracy is taking over the Russian system (O yes! maybe Smole. is the man to ask) it will be almost impossible to register the car over-here. Therefore any paper, pic WITH the correct reg. number is a must. The original picture taken at the Leighton Hall hill-climb in the late sixties can help. A lot of confusion really about the licence plates which seem to have been used for #4 as well.
If you can and will help, please do ... imagine you have to adopt me in order to save that wonderful TVR (the most beautiful according to the international press in the 1965 Geneva motor show ) ...
thanks

Jos,
Let me see what I can find. I found that car for the previous owner many years ago and I believe I have some documentation somewhere here in my archives that may (or may not) have the original registration number indicated. I'll start searching for it.
I'd love to see how the Trident looks today as I have photos of what it looked like when we got it out of the former owner's garage where it sat next to an Allard J2X.

When I took over from Chuck I tried to get some official documents from the UK-Club to avoid the 10% import tax on US cars. To no avail, so this was another setback for the budget.
I received on the basis of the Michigan title, the shipping papers and so on, a Belgian import document. If everything goes well this will do for the technical inspection of the car and later on to get the registration.
Anyway an official UK-registration document is a certain proof that the car actually was driven, not only on factory plates. This would be a great backup.
Thanks,
jos
