No tried it myself, but from the 3 layouts included it's Ring only, short GP & RIng and full GP circtuit & ring. Just like it is today and not the 1967 GPL layout.

Just tried it, this is THE version to have. 3 layouts, the "pay to drive" tourist Ring that anyone can go round (although it uses the old Sportscar pits, where public used to go out rather than the later paddock down the long straight), the Nordschleife and the short loop of the GP circuit used during the 24hrs race and the Nordschleife and the full GP circuit.

And I get a pretty much constant 60fps around the track using high gfx settings and DX9.

Just had a go on the VLN (24hrs circuit) managed a 6m58s in the BMW2006 car on my first timed lap, although I did pit part way through my first to crank the ride height up and lengthen 5-6-7 gears but it was still dragging it's bottom around some parts and losing speed.

PS. for those who don't know you can on the big and VLN circuits (where you start in the normal GP pits) go round the new track and return onto the pit straight without needing to go on the ring to start a timed lap, just like they do at the races there. Just stay on the proper side of the bollards

Tony are you same Tony involved in the GP4 mods scene and therefore related to the rFactor MMG season mods as mentioned in Autosimsport?

I tried to drive it using the BMW Sauber F1 car, and it was skitting like crazy. I felt like a pebble skimming across water. Could only make it half-way around before crashing out.

I'm clocked around 8m50s in a PCC 1.2 car on the tourist circuit on my first attempt (crashed 4 times!).

Anyone manage to get around this track in a 1979 F1 car without spinning?

Which track version, they all apparantly have different grip levels. I have seen screenshots of a Renault flipping over though

I'll give it a go tonight.

I've driven around the tourist version at a spirited pace without doing too much damage (in a Renault), but have yet to survive the other two versions.

My last attempt was the VLN version in a Williams. Ended up by drifting off the track in a left-hander around the half-way mark. The track went left, then right, and I ended up flying over a hill all the way to the other side and getting wedged between a steep embankment and armco.

I am the ring master blah blah.. laugh the track is based on an old mesh with new textures and its not accurate but neither is your statement..

if you play http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?d from 1:32 and rF_NS_VLN.wmv from 2:44 its not as crap as you make out...

Ah... but have you tried it in a 1979 F1 car? It's a bit more challenging than the modern ones.

There's a patch for it, not sure what it adds or changes yet. Might be to get rid of the hole in the bridge wall mentioned on RSC or some other false walls missing substance - www.rfactorcentral.com/detail.cfm?ID=Nordschleife

I think it adds some new things mainly after looking at the files, new replay camera files and ambient sounds too (some air horns) as well as new gdb and trk files so this update is needed for an up to date version with no miss-match errors.

Ps. And I'll give it a go in the 79 cars later
