Anyone have any knowledge (or even informed guesswork) as to when the '07 FoS will be?

I'm guessing 6/7/8 July, same as 2006, but given that '04 and '05 were end-June...

Cheers,

Martin

Depends heavily on the F1 dates and in particular Silverstone. British GP at the moment looks like it will be 7th July so that would rule out the weekend. French is only the week before as well so rules out that (unless they don't want any current GP teams or drivers to show up). Best guess would be the weekend before the French GP so 22/23/24th June which is the only free weekend. The F1 dates are still provisional I think though so could all change.

Has Michael Schumacher ever made an appearance at Goodwood FOS? I've been every year since 2000 (except for this year!) and I've never seen him there.

Wonder if he'll make an appearance now that he's retired?

Better still, the maestro going up the hill in a Maestro (MG version obviously; wouldn't want him complaining about lack of power). And no, as far as I know, he's never attended. It would be great if he did, but judging by the swarms of people that surround "normal" F1 drivers, he'd probably just be mobbed.

Browsing on the net for this last night. It's showing the 6/7/8 July - which is the same weekend as the British GP. Looks like there will be a few absences........

I've never been to the FOS before and as i live just North of Brighton i thought that i would go this year. I was wondering which day would be the bestday to go, and also the best tickets to get, by the way i will be on a bit of a budget, also how do you go about getting tickets, is internet the only option?

Tickets have to be bought in advance.
Friday is the best day for having a good look around.
Sat and Sun are both competitive days but are now quite over crowded.
For the last couple of years I've bought tickets for the Sunday and had the freebies from the Times to go on the Friday.

Thanks! Is it worth getting a ticket for one of the stands, or just an admittance ticket for Friday?

i would say get entrance tickets, thats what I have done in the past and will do the same this year. In someways I think friday is a good day as you can walk around the pits very early in the morning.
who are you going with

I'll probably go with my brother, as he is kinda into cars, and i don't spend that much time with him. But Friday, with admitance only sounds like the best option.

I always go on the Friday and get admission only. Keep an eye out for the free ticket offer in The Times. Get there nice and early to peruse the paddock and take a wander during the day. Advantages are smaller crowds and better viewing. Disadvantage is that not all of the cars in the programme run. Most of the new F1 machinery tends to stay in the paddock and only a couple of cars will come out to do runs. Being practice day though its not uncommon to see some stuff twice or more.

So is the Times running a free ticket promotion, if so do you know when it starts?

I can only assume they'll do an offer again this year. They sponsor the 'Supercar Run' every year and the offer usually appears in the Sunday Times motoring section. Keep an eye on Times online too. Can't remember off the top of my head when it starts so best just to keep an eye out over the next couple of months.

Times offer usually runs a week or so before the event - may even depend on how many tickets have been presold. And the gates open at 7am - if you are close make the effort and get in early. Then stay late too - miss all the traffic and see much more......

You get the same number of runs on each day Doug, which is two.
