Kent Run: Sunday 10-Sep-06

Weather permitting, Romanymagic and I are organising a Kent Run (with a bit of East Sussex) on Sunday 10-Sep. We'll be leaving from Wrotham early enough to avoid traffic but not so early that its a chore for everyone. There will be a half-way break near Lamberhurst (where people can leave/join if they wish) and we'll end up close to where we started just before opening time for a and a

This is the first run and we've only tested the route once so bear with us as it may need fine tuning over the next few runs if this becomes a regular event.

Having "experimented" this run, I think everyone is going to enjoy a thoroughly good run, with some fantastic roads with national speed limits...so hope to see everyone on the day

Watching this thread with interest - not sure I'll be able to make this one as I'm working on the Saturday and have lots of stuff I need to get done at the weekend, but I will definitely be up for one in the future

I got your mail and you're spot on! We are going to be exactly where you want to be by the time that you stated. I just didn't want to publish times or exact places on the forum.

Having assisted in the run testing, I can confirm that it's not bad at all.

Barry, we'll have to make sure that the pack slows enough over those hump-bridges though, I was talking to Richard and he reckons I got over a foot of air!!! I wasn't going that fast!

LOL - nice one Jay! After Friday's run, I've made a few tweaks and taken out the bits of the run that we didn't like. I think I've by-passed the bridges but if you can remember exactly where they were, can you email me and I'll double-check.

I am going to start work on the maps tonight and will mark those two humps down if they are still on the run. Me and Barry commenting on the roads as we were practising the run Me: "Excellent, nice straight road, good tarmac, national speed limit..." then as we hit the bump "ST!"

Can't remember where the bridges are, to be honest I had no real idea where we were. I know it's for the best, but I'll miss not having another McQueen moment! We could have put a video camera to the side and then had a contest for who could jump the highest! Would have made cracking pub viewing!
