At long last i shall be off on hols Friday.
Will be staying in Kavos.

Have been warned it's a bit rowdy.

Who's been and how bad / good is it?

Oh deep abounding joy, just my sort of place, Central Upon Sea

There must be nice quiet areas surely.

Been to Aya Nappa a few times and loved it and i don't mean the clubbing.

If i was still in 18-30 bracket maybe, but far too old for the clubbing malarky.
Need a nice relaxing break, beer of cause, but not 100's of people puking in the street NO.

I worked with a guy that took his wife and kids to Aya nappa (he's in the sally army, and none of them drink), apparently its very nice, and pretty quite during the day cos all the louts are tucked up in bed with hangovers.

Went there many years back. Very rowdy, blokey, chavvy etc etc, but hey what the hell, if you are young and can see the funny side of it all, then go for it.

Or just hire a bike out then ride up the island to some nicer spots - Ipsos is nice - a bit of everything to suit everyones taste

Rowdy, chavvy? Me young?

Oh dear it's not gonna be the best break ever i guess

Was cheap though. Will certainly hire a scoot and go exploring.

Hopefully the chavs will sleep till afternoon and not go out till after my bed time!

Regardless it's a week of no work, it will be sunny, there will be a beach and beer will be cheap!

Depends what your going for... night life is actually quiet good, especially if your names skinner and your single and looking to pick something up from the local cattle market

But as your taking the good lady you wont obvioulsy be that interested... nice mexican rest at the end of the strip on the left handside...

BTW watch out for crazy taxi drivers.. there are no paths… so watch your step…I got knocked down by a taxi and dislocated my hip… 35 euros back hander later it was popped back in by a friendly greek doctor… and was carried back to my room by two very helpful chaps!

Only to have my mate bring back too ladies

Well whatever it's like i will find out soon as i'm offski later.

From what people have said i have a real fear it will be 'Central upon Sea'.

Lots of travelling about and nights in possibly.
On the upside if it is chav central should be nice and quiet in the daytime.

Sorry I only read this today. My sympathies..... We went to Agios San Stefanos, north west, a couple of years ago; Beautiful place, lovely sunsets and relatively quiet. Day trip to Albania and another afternoon on boat down the west coast of the island. Corfu town is great. But as for Kavos; never went .... we just saw the flotsam & jetsam in their aftermath in the airport on the way home. Ouch. Aint so much 18-30 as 12-20. Hope you managed to get some Peace & Quiet to enjoy the island

it's a dump
almost everywhere else on the island is lovely, they do a great job of keeping the chavs in that one town

I'm back and Nurse! too.

As stated by many it's was a bit chav.
Locals were great, food beer cheap.
Flights, mosquitos and airport appalling.
The most sh@t airport i've ever had the intense displeasure to use, JB you though Gypo was bad.........

Definately not our sort of place, had a good break though and looking forward to next holiday.

Had a couple of days with Quads, which was damn good fun.
Beach was pretty good and accomodations OK too.

Will post a few pix at some point but as we didn't get home till after 9 this morning and ony had a couple of hours kip can't be arsed yet.
