964 warning light advice
Discussion
OK, a quick question from my boss.........who has a 964 cab. When he guns it (70+) a warning light appears, orange in colour, which looks like to squiggly brackets ( )
anyone have an owners manual to hand?
IGNORE ABOVE:
Light is:
Normal red light and something that looks like two wheels with a circle attaching to it. Similar to a side profile of a bicycle- bigger front sprocket and smaller rear socket with what looks like a chain attaching the two.
Any ideas?

I dont have my 964 anymore but IIRC it sounds like the fan belt tensioner wheel warning light
if the belt is not broken then it may just be slack enough to allow the sensor wheel too run free setting off the warning.
I seem to remember mine doing something like that when booted as the belt does wobble a bit

According to the handbook ...
Which as best as I can translate means:
Belt control engine blower
It seems to be explained as insufficient engine cooling.
Sorry I have my German handbook here in England and the English copy in Germany. Go figure.

Yep Fan belt broken light. If youy look in your engine bay you may find that either your belt has brocken or is too lose or as in my case the wheel that in in contact with the belt has dissintegrated.
If it only comes on intermittantly It would suggest the belt is loose rather than brocken. Changeing them is an easy job.
