Hi everyone,

I've managed to break yet another part on my beloved 944! The front nearside-inside anti-roll bar mount has snapped!

Now this isn't exactly a big deal (especially as it happened on my was home, and just inside the village), as I've just seen a set of polybushes for just under £40 on design911...

All I'm thinking is, what could I possibly do in the way of upgrades at this time? She's my daily driver, so I don't want to make the ride too harsh - also I've not got enough cash for a full uprated suspension kit...

So does anyone think there is any point in an upgrade to the anti-roll bar alone? I was thinking about perhaps a thicker 951 or (if I can find one) a 968 M030?

Should I even bother with polybushes - or would I be better with regular rubber mounts?

Cheers everyone,

Fatboy

The ARB mount is a very common failure. Both my cars have snapped the nearside over the years and my S2 has just snapped its offside. The replacement mount is only £4 from an OPC and a new bush is the same. If you want to upgrade to thicker 968 M030 ARBS front and back then Jon Mitchell in Bournmouth can get a full set with all the bushes and mounts for around £300.

Personally I would stick with the standard rubber bushes unless you have a dedicated track car. There are a number of Delrin or even solid metal bushes available but you will get creaking and a much siffer ride.

Cheers for the advice guys - I'll drop Solihull OPC a line in the morning, and get a set of standard rubber bushes and mounts ordered. (at £4 a pop it'd be silly not to renew the lot IMHO)

I do quite a few miles, and comfort is more important than outright cornering speed - She's not exactly clumsy in the cornering department

Now I may be wrong on this but in the winter car suspensions allways seem to creek more ?
I put this down to old rubber in the suspension, is this correct ?
