Insurance problems 944
Discussion
Turns out the car has 968 steering wheel & spoiler as well as Boxter alloys!
I know I could take it all off. But then I wouldn't like it so much. So i need a speical policy. This is a daily drive & my only car. So I can't have a classic policy they say. At least until the wife starts driving. So either I buy another car. Or get some kind of speical policy. Was thinking of Foootman James or Adrian Flux.
Has anyone else found a way round this. Most of these cars have been modded in some way. It is nearly twenty years old after all. Try telling your insurance company that!
Help please. I just want it all up front & legal.
So far been refused by
Prestige insurance. £300 additional premium.
Porshe insurance. Silly money.
AON no subtible policy.
I wouldn't care but I'm over 40 & have 9 years no claims.

For a start, the 968 bridge spoiler was first available on the last few years of 944 S2 and Turbo, so it is a 944 part.
For the steering wheel and alloys do what I do, tell the insurance company they replaced worn out or damaged items and they cost no more to replace than the original parts and don't increase performance or make the car easier to steal. If any company wants to load the policy for that then walk away, plenty more fish in the sea. You only really need to resort to Footman James or Adrian Flux for big engine mods

I've got my (only car) daily driver 944 insured with firebond ( www.firebond.co.uk ) for £400 odd quid a year, and I've only got 1 year's no claims (out of country and no car previously in my name)....
I've got Cup alloys, but nothing else - doubt you'd have to bother mentioning the 968 wheel tbh - it's a porker wheel after all....

Car looks good. Have used Adrian Flux before. But havn't quite got over when they doubled my premium for a car Id insured with them for 3 years & never so much as scratched! £2000 they wanted. I sold the car.....Have driven sheds eversince......Until Saturday I hope.
Firebond Tops for insurance. Classic cover. Too & from work. Unlimited miles. Agreed Value. All I have to do is join a car club. Fantastic.
Cost. £339 !!!! I was paying £300 on a Suzuki shed!!!
Things can only get better.
