I have not come across this before but it sounds a great idea.
Be careful though. OPC's are past masters at enticement, and before you know it, you will be offered a deal to "swap" the Boxster for the C4S.
It is akin to pick pocketing. You know you are being robbed, but can't quite put your finger on how its being done.
Whatever the enducement, enjoy the day and make sure you consume lots of their coffee and biscuits

I have one booked tomorrow afternoon at Swindon OPC. Apparantly I am taking a carerra 4S cabriolet out around an airfield.
Are they good fun and has anyone done the Swindon one.

I've had a Test Drive Plus, no hard sell on the day, no sales person present on the day just a Porsche approved test driver. They give you instruction and show you what the car can do, a thoroughly enjoyable hour or so.
My TD+ was at MIRA and the classic comment of the day.....Accelerate to 100mph, take your hands off the wheel and stamp your foot on the brake!!!!!

my faith has been restored in human natureWhat's it costing of you don't mind me asking? Many years ago whilst waiting for my Boxster to be delivered they gave me the 'Porsche Driving Experience' at Bedford Autodrome which was great fun (Tiff Needell was the host) and free! It was such a good day that I'd happily pay to repeat the experience....
Absolutely nothing well apart from the £41K they took off me for my boxster about 5 weeks ago.
The salesman did say he would arrange for me and MOH to have a test drive plus and true to his word mine is this afternoon.
The other promise was a play in the 997 Turbo demo car, which as yet I haven't taken them up on.
Does anyone know how long it lasts?

Okay well I have just returned.
it was an interesting experience. The car was a 997 C4S. The instructor was not the chap I was expecting but was an ex F1/Le Mans driver from the 1960's/70's called Richard Attwood.
We took the car to Kemble rather than Wroughton Airfield and the only dissapointment was that we could only do high speed runs and heavy braking excercises as the area was restricted because there was a lot of flying taking place. So there were no chicanes and no figure of eights or circuits.
Doing an emergancy stop at 80mph was unbelievable, as was doing the same excersise plus swerving across half of the runway. I have always been a lifelong fan of the 911 and it was an enjoable car to drive but I found it a little bit too cosseting. Ive concluded I either need a Boxster with the same engine (sadly not achievable) or a 911 Turbo.

He normally only does these for Mayfair, Reading, Chiswick. He was covering Swindon in place of the regular chap who was getting married. Apparantly he takes the clients from the above OPC's to Chobham in Surrey.
When I went into the dealer they were telling me I had a VIP driver rather than the regular chap. Of course I just said "never heard of him".

Sure sign of a legend who's been there, done that, and seen all the speed he needs/wants to see ?
I think your right there slippydiff. I think he was also trying toget across to me that the big engined Porsches were just to powerful to be used in this country becuase of Speed Cameras.
He did tell me that any more than 5 points on his licence and he'd loose his ADI License.
He now drives an Audi A8 becuase he now likes his comfort.
