yes - get the OEM one for £1000 fitted (excl switchable button), and go to a specialist non-OPC to buy/fit

I've got the official Porsche Sports Exhaust (PSE) on my 986S. Best option on the car (and I've got just about every option).

Got it from Porsche Apart [www.porsch-apart.co.uk/] brand new with fitting kit for a silly price, got my local specialist [www.9xx.co.uk/] to fit for a fraction of the OPC cost.

It's sublime. It howls, gurgles shrieks and barks. You can never really predict what it'll do next. Delightful and entertaining.

I've had it on for 4k miles and have not used my radio/CD in that time. I was told by my specialist {Jon Mitchell) that it would get better with time and it has, it's become so much more sophisticated in it's aural range and far louder and deeper at higher revs.

Porsche are crazy not to have this as standard on the car (It might be the fault of the Swiss Noise Nazis but why don't they make a silent Swiss Porsche instead of penalising the rest of the world). It transforms it totally. It really feels like a 'Sports Car' with it on.

Don't hesitate, get one. I know there are a lot of alternatives to the Posrche one that I have no experience of but this really is one clever piece of kit. Soundfiles I've heard of it's competion just sound loud and 'Max Power'.

It is made for the car. It's quiet when you want and screams when you want.

Don't bother with the cut-off switch, you'll never use it or need to use it.

Sound clips? Yes.

I can't remember where I got these, they may be official Porsche clips, but they are of the PSE and they are accurate.

Start Engine

Start Engine & Accelerate

Drive Past

Mine sounded like that about 2k miles ago, now it sounds much better.

Aren't Porsche crazy not to have this as standard!

Hope this helps.
