I'm doing a 4 person day with them tomorrow. Can't wait. Anyone here done one - and if so, what's it like?

I'm particularly keen to learn to heel and toe and about left foot breaking. Both things I understand the principle of, but when I've tried to practice on the road have felt I'm a bit of a liability.

You'll love the time there - just make sure you tell Andy what you want so that he can show you the appropriate exercises.

Simply ensure all the car fluids are topped up and that you have some "meat" on your tyres - consensus view is that you will use approx 1mm of tread.

Have fun ... it's a great way to learn driving

It's fab - the mad Welshman will teach you loads. Have another one in a couple of months when you've had time to digest what you learnt.

What was it like?

I'm doing the 30 car day tomorrow, although obviously not as intensive but for £30 I can't complain!

It was very, very good.

I learnt a lot. So many of the things I percieved as being "rules" that I had in my head were wrong. Also, I was sure I wasn't doing certain things, but Andrew highlighted I was, and once I stopped them I was immediatly faster.

And by the end we were doing a circuit that was mapped out, and Andrew did it in 1:25 in my car and I was able to manage 1:29, which I was very pleased with.

Glad you had a good one. You need to get an Elise though - that'll take 30 seconds off your time........

Not what Andy said. He was 3 seconds slower in my 968 than his Elise on his first lap in my car, and said he thought if he had 5-6 laps in it the 968 might be quicker. We had a long straight in the course we were using though, which is where the 968 is quicker.

I'm a big fan of the Elise's though, and would have one if it was a bit more practical (and I wasn't such a fat ba5tard).

He set a different circuit then to when I was there the other week. No long straights in ours. Did he send you off down to where you turn for the 90 degree left?

Yep, we essentially did his std course, but swapped the top right cone for a chicane, a trip down the single track road, turning around a cone at the end, and back up it again, into the fast left hander you do in the morning, then continue with the std course he does.

Sounds fun. Back there in a few weeks with three fellow PHers and their Elises - we're doing a "wet" day with him - basically if its not raining he gets the airfield fire brigade to do the job instead. Fantastic!!!! bouncebouncebounce

We did a unofficial "WET" day there yesterday, as it poured of rain all morning, and most of the afternoon, tjdixon911 provided most of the entertainment in his porker, doing 360's everywhere, and as much as admire Elises, I have to say, what a handful in the wet. Even the Scoobies were struggling for grip.
Managed a 1min 15sec on the large circuit in the Octy vRS,and surprised quite a few with the performance of the Octy vRS, and the Fabias there with short wheel base and shed loads of torque did very well.
A really enjoyable cheap day out, good company, and good to see how others perform in the wet, and sort of dry.
If you ever had doubts, don't have, just go and enjoy it, we did.

I've done a day with 1stlotus, Andy Walsh, in my scoob and was awesome fun certainly worth every penny

I stopped the night in Harlow and it snowed overnight leaving 4" on the ground and missed the first 2 hours

Spent some time doing the figure of 8 round the island and cone but the Doughnuts around the cone made me lose my breakfast.

I learnt a lot that day The extreme lack of grip in the snow made Car control very hard but when you got it right was so rewarding.
