I may be looking to buy an S1 Elise this summer/autumn. I might only keep it for a year, then trade it in for an S2, depending on funds.
So, what's the best idea - a newer plate or fewer miles? Which is likely to be the more trouble free ().
I'll only be looking to spend £15k max, so I guess it'll either be a standard Elise, or 111S.

Get one as new as possible with as few miles as possible.

Seriously though, there's nowt wrong with a high miler if it's been looked after properly. And if you're not looking to upgrade (no point for one year's use) it's worth seeking out a 111S if you can.

S1 111S is the Lotus bargain of the century - they are, IMHO, the best Elise yet - and prices are sooo reasonable at the mo...

So you think say a V-plate 111S with 40k miles would be better than an R-plate standard with 20k, or an earlier 111S with 20k miles?

Also, any predictions on how much prices will rise by July?

Jim I think it just depends on the condition of the car. Having said that I suspect a 20k one will be easier to shift than a high miler.
