Silverstone today
Discussion
Back from a very newsworthy afternoon at Silverstone today.
Spyker made their first public appearance with their new livery:
Frank Montagny had his first Toyato test prior to his contract to be their test driver next year:
Lewis Hamilton made his dbut test in the Mclaren, probably leading to a seat next year, which one though?
Being overtaken by another debutant:
The above debutant, Nelson Piquet Jr:
And a proud father watching on, Nelson Piquet:
For anyone interested, The teams Super Aguri, Spyker, Williams, Toyota, Mclaren and Renault will be at the track for the next 2 days, Weds 20th and thurs 21st, the track opens at 09:00 and running finishes at 17:00. Public access is to the Luffield sections of the track, extending further as and how the marshals see fit, and here is the best bit, entrance is free.

Who was driving the Spyker (or should I say, MF1)?
Nice to see Piquet Snr smiling. Last picture I saw of him was frowning at his son during one of the F3 races.

Christian Albers was in the Spyker MF1. Had a nice chat with one of the test team, and they have said that Spyker are taking over at such a fast pace, and that they are going flat chat to remove 'Midland' from anything to do with the team.
Lewis Hamilton was already very 'Mclarenised', very corporately correct answers to questions, and his manerisms were very noticably similar to other Mclaren drivers, although he was signing autographs for people.

Went yesterday (Wed). It seemed to the uninformed observer that Toyota blew up two cars during the day.
Anyone know what the meaning of the green flashing light (rain light?) is? I've never noticed them before.

I was always under the impression it was a red light for the regular race drivers, yellow for test drivers, and green for a carthat was under developement or it was a guest drive by a new driver.
Saying that though, my theory was blown out the water on tuesday when Nelson Piquet was driving with a red light, and Christian Albers was driving with a green one.
