Got the hang of this picture lark.
Check out this Ruf 930 parked outside Charing Cross Hospital last month.
Must be about an 85 and still looks fantastic.

Just doesn't look as if its standing still !

I'm fairly sure that car is usually parked around Ealing Common tube station (near to the dry cleaners I use..!!) - recognise the plate.

Have admired it myself on many occasions. Beauty - anyone here?

The airvents infront of the rear wheels and the wider sills, were they fitted at the Porsche factory or are they aftermarket items? I've seen them on many flatnose 930s, but as well on those with normal headlights.

It works both ways, I think. A lot of Turbos had these vents specified by customers and fitted by Porsche at the factory. It was an option for a time, though I've no option code to hand, and don't know if you could get these vents factory fitted on a regular WTL car.

Turbo LE had the vents IIRC, or you could have a Turbo LE Flatnose which this is probably based on I would guess.

Thanks, loach.
I've digged around in another forum and found this comment:

The Slantnose option was offered as a factory option (option number 505 in North America) from 1987-1989. Prior to that Porsche's Special Wishes program modified some cars for customers. Visually, the differences are the slantnose front fenders with pop-up lights, the rocker panels, and the vents in the rear fenders (where the oil cooler is also located).
That doesn't cover that the wider sills and vents were available for non-flatnose cars ex works though. Will do some more digging

If it helps at all, I went to look at a Porsche 930 last year. It had been owned by one old duffer and he had had the car from new. It was a regular 930 Turbo in guards red, with a works power boost, and whilst it wasn't a flat-nose, it had the side sill extensions and the rear wing vents. These had all been done at the factory for the customer.

The car I went to look at had been modified by the customer to an LE spec. Nice car - it had only done 13,000 miles, but the dealer wanted stupid money for it.

Tiga, the one I saw has a similar spec to the one on the picture, however I don't think it was an LE (last edition?), since it must have been built between 1984 and 1986.
It is either first or second owner, white metallic with black Fuchs wheels. It has the vents in the rear wings and probably the wider sills too (can't remember exactly). I've seen that particular car first in 1986 and it had these features then (which I saw on a photo together with myself on).

There are two possibilities: It was a Flachbau (RoW Flatnose (M506)) with the front wings re-converted, or it had the vent and sill from the factory or aftermarket. The car's colour, white metallic, is an indication for either, a special order at the factory or an aftermarket treatment.

There's some flatnose-boffin material on www.930s.com/

I'm not sure that is a Turbo LE. It looks modified to me. I think that the front valence on the Turbo LE is different from that one.

That's how the valence should look.

There are lots of 930 that have few owners and low miles, and some of them are in the market too. Compared to same aged 928 at least; so I guess the 930 was less used as a daily transport.

Not all Rufs are Rufs, and not all slant nose 930s were converted at the factory!
