Brief is it can't be 'shit', must come in under £1,500, and it helps if it's a v8 (or sounds like one)

Shit =
Anything French
Anything Italian (apart from Ferrari)
Anything air-cooled
Anything rear-engined
Anything Rover engined (except v8s, obviously)
Rovers
Diesels
Especially French or Italian diesels
Daewoos
Anything Daewoos are seemingly derived from (especially Rovers)
Vans (so bang goes the Sherpa suggestion)
Automatics (added by edit 29/9/06)

There MUST be something out there for the Rollerskate Boy hehe

You forgot to mention that it must be reliable, able to take abuse on a daily basis, economical on fuel, cheap to repair and (although you've already said it, I think it needs emphasis) not sh1t!

I don't doubt the ability of a 205 GTI, but I'm still not comfortable with the whole Frenche thing... It has been noted though and won't be ignored; in the mean time I have arranged to view a BMW 520i on an M plate with around 90k on the clock for £1400...

There's nothing wrong with a BMW 520; You get German build quality/reliability, acceptable economy, more than 4 cylinders and lets not forget rear wheel drive for occasional drifting! thumbup

Pete, do not step back to your BMW ways. They are usually driven by Sh1t drivers. Better the car being sh1t than you!

Besides, if I ever meet you at a junction in Brougton I'll never let you out ;o)

Whats that 2 seater hart top Honda thing? Nice looking motor! And reliable.
