I want to get two new keys, can an independant progarmme them for me? Is there anyway I can program them to the car? Whats the best way of getting new keys? does it have to be the dealer?

Also as my partner will be driving the car mostly, I'd like to get the central locking to lock when driving away, is that also only a dealer modification?

And lastly can you turn the horn hoot off when you arm the alarm?

Many thanks for any help you guys and girls can give me

You don't say which type you have , but the horn shouldn't sound when you arm /disarm the car if it's a 996.. It will sound if the central console lid is open ...

Not sure about the availability of keys but any indie who has the ability to set the ECU can programme differing levels of locking. IIRC the available options for the settings are in the drivers handbook.

Type 1
Doors lock automatically when ignition is turned on.
Type 2.
Doors lock automatically when a speed of 3-6 MPH is reached
Type 3.
Doors lock automatically when ignition is turned on. If doors are opened with the engine running they lock again automatically when a speed of 3-6 MPH is reached.
Type 4.
The doors do not lock automatically.

Note: You will need to pull the door handle TWICE or use the central locking button on the dash to exit the car in an emergency if automatic locking is used.
