GT 4 Cheat Codes

Can you get cheats in codes, i.e x, square... or do you just have to buy one of those disc things?

No you'll need to buy a disc with a game save on it. Polyphony like Capcom will make you work for your rewards.

I found some web pages a while back that explain how you can download save games, convert them, put them on a cd, boot up your PS2 with that cd and transfer the save files to the mem card!.
It saved having to buy anything anyway to do such a thing : p
I tried it with a save game i grabbed and i now have exactly 4,522,506,211,531,762,789 credits, all the cars unlocked and 736 cars in the garage.

I believe you need a chipped PS2 though iirc or at least a way to boot such a disc.

I only cheated because i purchased the Jap GT4 when it was launched and played it for ages but later got the English version and just wanted a quick way to get all the goodies.

There are a few ways to easy money.

One of the special conditions on the island village track wins you a car worth £350k, and doing that a few times allows you to buy and fully tune a TT DTM car, which in turn (after some lisence tests) allows you to enter one of the Touring Car races in B-spec and win easily, the prize being about £200k and a CLK GTR worth £750k, so almost 1mill credits for 15mins of B-spec...

OR you could just blatantly cheat, which I did on GT3 after loosing my save game, but half the fun is not just getting what you want, makes the game more interesting!
