2 new Italian purchases- advice please
Discussion
I don't really hang around here much considering I own some Italia, however I'm soon to be changing my Rangie and DB9, the first due to mileage, the latter due to boredom.
I hope to replace the RR with a Quattroporte, and basically wish to hear from current owners, is it as good as the 4200 in respect of the engine note and sharpness, which I've had no problems with at all? What is bootspace like?
I'm stuck between two extremes for the Aston replacement, do I go Murci LP640 or F599? I'm interested in overall driving experience and reliability.
Thanks in advance, P_N.

Thats probably the best problem in the world to have. Sorry I can't offer any advice, but good on you! I hope you will be going for a manual Lambo.

well you're the second positive person after my son, the wife isn't too happy in my decision but heh, she's getting a new car so surely I'm entitled to my benefits.
Cheers
ETA: the Bentley has moved to France as originally planned so there's no worries of a clash of interest.

LP640 - if for no other reason that you can probably get one by this time next year
Has anyone actually seen a 599 for sale yet - god knows what the initial premium will be
Of the two cars, I've only sat in the 599 so cant really give you a comparison
I drove the LP640 again at Millbrook on Sat and thought it was a really great drive(previously I'd only driven it around London, so never really got to try it out)
At the end of the day I think they are both great cars with "similar" performance, so I think a lot of it comes down to which one you prefer the look of and what you will be using the car for (the 599 is clearly the more practical everyday car).
My father is 61 and loves the look of the 599 (and is probably the typical buyer), I'm 35 and hate the look of the 599 so will be buying the Lamborghini

Tough one this. I've had my name down for a 599 for ages, and have one due early next year. My problem with it is that, having been burned huge on every other 12 cylinder Ferrari I've ever owned (456, 550, 575), and seeing the 599 list at at least 200 when you spec it, I can't help feeling that I'm doing the eqivalent of lighting a pile of 50 quid notes when I take it.
Perhaps more importantly, I have to agree that the 599 does not look good.
The 640 on the other hand.....never seen one in the flesh, but looks like a supercar should, and from reading around this clearly goes like it too.

When you get the 640 (see the suggestive hints in that phrase) can I have a ride?
You might be allowed to sit in the passenger seat and go for a drive, but I'll have to say no to anything more mate.
Thats what I wanted! I don't know who in there right mind would let someone they only know on PH drive there new supermachine.

I was referring to the use of the word "ride" corrupted mind.
If all goes well with the eventual sale of my business, I'll have another 2 Italian's to add to these additions

Well one is a classic (which I'm having doubts about) and the other is a Piaggio, but not the scooter, anyway I'm getting way ahead of myself.
Must say, I feel like I'm a 5 year old on Christmas Eve again Its time to enjoy life again.
A Piaggio like this ?
www.it.vtl.piaggio.com/prodotti/ape/prodotti_gamma/ape_tm_furgone/index.htm
Or maybe this ?
www.it.vtl.piaggio.com/prodotti/ape/prodotti_gamma/ape_cross_country/index.htm
No. on a more serious note, I feel the LP640 is a much nicer car in terms of visual appeal and the sound, especially with an aftermarket exhaust !!
