Am considering having some steering and suspension work done here. Have just been to look and found it a little off putting. Mucky little back street unit that claims to be specialists in Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati and Porsche. I am aware that looks can be deceiving and that they have featured briefly on here before can anybody give me some real life experience of work done by them and would you recommend them please

There was a similar thread on Millbrook a couple of weeks back so it's worth doing a search.

Thanks for that. I read it and it appeared a little general along the lines of ...these are good guys... ...should be OK... that sort of discussion I need to spend quite a bit of money so just wanting some real experiences of the service. Thanks again.

My car is there at the moment and I have to say so far they've been spot on! They all used to work at Porsche Sheffield and seem to know their stuff. They are very thorough and professional, they call when they say they're gonna etc. I'll let you know what the final results are when I pick my car back up this week sometime (having to rely on another garage to get the gearbox back to them, long story which involves warranty and original garage sending it to some "gearbox specialist" that nobodys ever heard of) but I'm glad my car's being looked over by these guys as I don't think they'll let the car go unless it's been properly done.

I'd be tempted to give em a try, what are your other options, Porsche sheffield? hmm...

ANDY T. Thanks for that,I was going to use Strasse at Leeds but only because that would appear to be the thing to do. I think in view of your comments I'll try these boys. OPC Sheffield! any relationship/potential relationship with them is dead in the water.

Gary. Sold me a very shabby boxster then expected me to take an 11 grand drop eleven months later to change for a brand new one.

I have a 996, and just had it serviced by Millbrook. These guys are outstanding and the reason I went with them is that they are all Porsche trained and have just left Porsche - so they know their stuff. I must say that the garage is immaculate with brand new equipment throughout, and they all wear millbrook uniform. (Maybe your expectations of a working garage are different to mine!) I dealt with Gary and he really impressed me with his knowledge and approach to my car. I would highly recommend these guys over ANY independent in the local area where I have not been impressed by their customer care (or lack of it). Thank goodness that Millbrook have set up - I can drive past OPC sheffield, and leave my car with these boys for less than half the price and double the service standard - Oh Joy!!

I did take the car to Millbrook. It had a terrible groaning coming from front end. Vehicle in question is my wifes boxster with 41,000m.

Diagnosed as both control arms worn. They could do the work immediately "would you like to leave it with us sir?" booked in next morning. given a quote of £100 per part and labour between £100 -£150. I also told them that as there was wear in front suspension/steering they should check rear with a view to seeing if anything needed doing.

Vehicle collected same day with work completed as stated. Bill as follows
Parts £198 (two control arms)
Labour£120 (to fit arms)
Labour£000 (to check rear suspension - given clean bill of health)

I went to pay by debit card was told that they were not rigged for cards yet. I offered to go for some cash to be told don't bother take the car and drop it in when you're passing.

Vehicle washed and valeted immaculately!

On this evidence, Top Boys. I will definitely use them again.

I can thoroughly recommend Millbrook, they changed my discs and pads on my Boxster S recently along with a couple of other minor jobs, they provided a very quick, professional service that was far more reasonable than the quotes I'd gathered from other specialists and OPC's (which are always much higher of course!)
They are just the type of garage that we have needed in the South Yorkshire area.
Keep up the good work guys!!

I've had quite alot of work done by Strasse and they also are top guys, but they are in Leeds, not Sheffield.

great to hear that there's a serious non-OPC option down South !

Hey, fellow Sheffielders or there abouts, what are these guys like on the Air-cooled stuff, there has been mention of Boxters/996's etc.
What about 930,964,993's

They are based at Unit 6, Fell Road, Attercliffe Common, Sheffield, S9 2AL. They are just next to the Hallam FM arena in Attercliffe, about 2 mins of the M1 junction 34. Their number is 0114 244 4050.
