Very nice, one to show someone who's thinking about giving it a go. The slow motion F3's over the kerbs and rally stages showing the suspension bouncing is very good.

is rfactor worth buying, or is it getting long in the tooth now?

Well, I'm currently looked on GTR2 - which is young in comparison. I just always seem to get into games as they are drying up, didnt fancy doing it again!

I'll grab a copy after payday. See you on the pixelated tarmac!

The mods for rF keep it upto date, it'll be around a lot longer than GTR2 IMO

GTR2 uses a licensed Gmotor2 engine which is developed by ISI and used on their own game rFactor. Simbin can alter it themselves which they have done with the rain add-on but ISI are the ones who are improving the engine and making official updates to it. In technical terms you could say GTR2 is behind rFactor since the version of Gmotor2 that Simbin bought is an old version, whereas ISI updated rFactor's just a few months ago.

Bit more info

GTR = ISI's pMotor1.0+gMotor1.0+ISI/simbins network component

GTR2 = pMotor1.5(pM1.0 tweaked/hacked by simbin)+gMotor2.0(with features yet to be 'unlocked' in rF's gM2.0 code and an external group adding character animations)+simbins network component

rFactor = pMotor2.0+gMotor2.0+ISI's network component
