I'm hoping this little rant will calm me down and get my head thinking straight again.

I have some property, currently tenantless and having to deal with the letting agent is more trouble than if I just did the bloody thing myself. I still havn't been paid the last two months rent and when the tenant moved out, they left the fridge switched off and the door closed. I went to check out the apartment, opened the fridge door and was met with a gadzillion flies - utter dirty b'stards, took me all day to clean the place and get it smelling normal again. So , I've got trying to find a new tenant on my mind now and trying to find a new letting agent as this one is shite.

My wife had a little business idea a couple of weeks ago and normally, I just let them wash over me as she never does anything about it - but this was one idea that I couldn't just leave. So, as usual, she's forgotten the idea and gone back to work and I'm now trying to get it pulled all together. I've located suppliers in Ireland and Hong Kong, found retail outlets, set up as a sole trader, sorted out insurance and I'm now trying to get my head around tax implications. My brain feels like it's going to explode, I'm just a normal engineer type person with no head for business, I don't really know what I'm doing, just making it all up as I go along. I feel like a fake when I'm talking to people about buying and selling stuff.

BTW, I'm selling Heely styled training shoes, the trainers with the roller in the heel, so if anyone wants some, let me know. I've even registered websites for my business - www.just-glide.com but havn't a clue what I'm going to do with it yet.

My waterbed sprung a leak, so after three succesive nights of fixing it and waking up in a puddle, bit the bullet and bought a new matress. Had to sleep on an airbed for a week, not the most comfortable of beds, but the new matress finally arrived yesterday. I thought I was in for my first decent nights sleep, but no, woke up in a puddle AGAIN! I think someone is deliberatley stabbing the bugger or I'm at the age when bladder control is no longer an option.

I'm doing that much stuff, I havn't had time to post on PH, play games all day or have a lie in - which is what I really want to do. I want it all to go away and I want to be lazy again.

Good rant, I'm not sure if there was a question in there or not though. I love these rollershoes. I watched a girl using them in a shopping centre and was very impressed. I like the way they are shoes and rollers at the same time.

No questions in there, just wanted to get it off my chest. Vent my spleen so to speak.

The shoes are pretty cool, but there isn't very many places selling them, hence my little business. It's just a part time thing until the fad has passed, so see how long a life it has.

I'm taking time out, my head is spinning and I need a break.

Don't know if it's a bad omen or not, but a Mini, exactly the same colour as I want, has just crashed through the neighbours wall. If it had been a couple of foot the other way, it would have crashed into the back of the Cerb, which wouldn't have been nice, as I've not used it all week to keep it nice for the new owner when he picks it up. yikes

I would have thought these would sell well as 'buy now' on ebay. That would give you country wide coverage without much hassle.

If you want another business opportunity, then this is exactly the problem I had when moving up here! North East estate/letting agents are terrible in every possible way. Setup an agency and run it to the same standards as if you were in the South East and you would clean up, I reckon...

No!!!!! A man can only take on one thing at a time. The subject has already been discussed in our home and we agree, we could do it much better ourselves. But when my wife says those words, she means YOU could do it much better by YOURSELF. Funny, I have to do a lot of things by myself these days

Rook Matthews Sayer...

...i'm not involved with the EA side though, only Financial Advice

I say Low Fell as that's where the branch is, but we also have branches in jesmond, gosforth, forest hall, west denton etc... not many south of the river but then again - it is bandit country! hehe

Byff - dont know where you are in the NE, but if your down this way I can suggest Yarmside lettings (Barbara). Ive used other agents in the past who were terrible, but YL are spot on.

The apartment is in Hartlepool, right opposite the hospital and should be a magnet for all those doctors and nurses as the hospital accomodation is hideous.

The current letting agent is going to get sacked on Monday once I've got a car to actually go down there and tell her to her face. Three months, I've not been paid a penny in rent. I might as well lease it to the D.S.S. at least I'll get paid and they can't destroy it any worse than the current so called doctors can.

Apparently, my cheque has been in the post three times now and has taken over two weeks to arrive. I've still not got it.
