Afternoon,
Well on the way to work this moring happily driving round the corner when the back stepped out in a fairly major way. Im aware the rears are on there way out so to the quesiton.
I have just (well a few months) put a new asimetrico pirelli on the front. The front develops a worrying vibration at about 120 ish (on a testrack) so i want to replace the other front and i need new rears. Whats ppls opinion on mixing asimetricos at the front and rosso's on the rear??? Or should i just get asimetricos all round.

Mixing tyres is like mixing drinks - not advisable.
I'd go for Asymmetricos all round. 4x for £500 at Bracknell Tyres.

just spoke to bracknell tyres (as fate would have it) cant get the asimetricos in They are calling back with availability for the rossos rear so ill ask them again then.
Otherwise there prices were very good saving 60 quid on the rears over event for ppls info.

Yup not sure how they do it but they are amazing value.
I know people tend to advise against mixing tyres between the front and rear but its not as bad as you imagine. Unless you are going mad on the road you are fine.I did once do a track day bedford in my GT3 with asymetricos on the back and Dunlop super sport race trackday tyres on the front. It was "fun" as I quite enjoy sorting out big slides at bedford. It was though quite amazing just how fast you could take the corners before the back couldn't follow the front. It is a lot safer if you put the grippiest tyres on the back rather than the front.

I'm running N3 Rossos all round on the 993 now...Previously I had N1 Assimetricos all round but couldn't find any N1 rears to match when they wore out.
[My tyre fitter actually REFUSED to fit some N3 Assimetricos that I had sourced, stating that Porsche AND Pirelli did not reccomend this...]
Not sure about the Rossos really...They are more grippy in the wet, but in the dry the sidewalls seem to be softer making the car seem a bit loose and spongy.

I have been trying to get some new Corsa motorsport tyres for the rear for nearly a month now, car has failed MOT !
Could not get Corsa System either and have had to bite the bullet and get some Yokohama's all round the A048 track tyre.
Anyway i would mix road tyres but not track or racing tyres, they can be so so different, it can really spoil your day chasing the handling.

what they refused based on the fact it was mixing n3 and n1 or just because n3's have been superceeded?

Currently running P-Zero Rossos and can wait until they wear out - almost as bad as the Pirelli Ass and Dir that I was running before.
Conti Sport Contacts are the best I've had, will try Bridgestone S-O2s next as they were good on my previous cars.

Hmmm. Well I'd already bought the N3 Assimetricos from Black Circles. He would not fit them because the fronts were N1. I argued and he phoned both Porsche and Pirelli whilst I was there to double check. The N3s had to go back and I opted for the rossos all round. Who was I to argue?

another vote for conti sports!!!
although I found N1 seemed to be sharper than the N2 which I have on now.
and on a side note, spent 8 hours in the car today, about 2.5 hours in traffic, but the clear bits more than made up for it, ohh and the roundabouts with mud and wet leaves on
everyone should have a 911 at some time in their life, love the way its comfy on the long journeys but also fun for the occasional blast on the way
actually ive been back for 45 mins and feel like going out again!

ok evil jack well that could put pay to my plans to put n3 asimettricos on the front and rossos n4's on the rear ... hmm think its time to talk to bracknell tyres.
