993 on-board computer backlight continuously dim and bright

Disconnect your battery. wait... remove steering wheel, pull out the rev counter, remove screws from the back, remove the (i'm doing this from memory from 2 years ago) pcb (it unplugs), get to the bulb that sits behind the display and cut the circuit board 4mm away from the bulb on each side. Run two wires up to the other pcb and solder on to the main rev counter light bulb pcb connections. reassemble.
If you get stuck, take it out and send it to me with a cash bung
Don't waste your time trying to replace the transistors - i've done mine twice and each time it lasted about 15 minutes

:O ... THAT's what one has to do?... I don't think I can do that..
Seriously, I think I'll do more damage than good...
Kay, who's wondering whether he would be worthy 993 owner

Cheers Ace, that will go into the job list. Talking of lights, is conversion of stop/tail and indicator bulbs to LED 'truly' an upgrade or just a fashion thing? I want to do it (fashion victim), but only if it is better than what I've got already! I want big and bright!
