Cheap 7.1 System for PC. Would it work in my room?
Discussion
I've decided to treat myself to a cheap 7.1 setup for my 'play room' PC. Ebuyer have the Creative Labs Inspire T7900 7.1 Speakers System.
It's only £60 so cant go wrong really. The question is is it possible to customise the output so it works well in any room. I'm in the loft so the left speaker woule be about 1 foot away while the right could be 5 feet away. The centre speaker would be about 2 feet away and roughly central. Again it would be impossible to setup the rears so I would be much closer to the left hand hand side. I'm sat at the left hand wall.

It's all possible, you should be able to setup the system so that the ones further away (i.e. the right hand speakers) are a little bit louder than the left ones to compensate for the difference, it should allow you to tweak this within the creative software.
Another option (and the one I went for on the PC) is to get a good set of 5.1 headphones, I have a set of Medusas and they're great, I do have a proper digital 5.1 setup for the 360 though, so I couldn't really justify having two lots of speakers in two different rooms.
