after 2 lotus and a TVR with no problems from mr general public, I have experienced my first case of vandalism.

someone kicked the door panel of my car this weekend in a car park. Scuffed the paint right through to the primer. It is definintely not someone opening their door onto mine.

It is exactly 3 weeks old. Makes you wonder why.

Sorry for you. Luckily I never had such an experience in the many years I've been driving Porsche's....

I had the same - on the first night I owned the car.

A 20-year-old 944 (hardly a profligate show of sensational wealth), parked in a prvate parking space, and the door was kicked presumably by a jealous passer-by.

My contempt for the sh1t in question knew very few bounds.

A person with the same mentality no doubt as those who agree with "green" taxes because they think someone else will be affected (i.e someone "better off " than them), thus feeding their bitterness...until they realise too late, they'll be affected too. Bitter failures that sort, just laugh at the hopeless and non-constructive way they deal with their frustration, thus confirming their place at the bottom of the pile.

it was at the galleria car park in hatfield. I parked miles away from any other cars as well, just to avoid some cock opening their door onto my car. Goes to show there is little you can do.

Agree it happens with other Marques. It *does* seem worse with Porsches though. Possibly because the chav s have actually watched enough Top Gear to know what a Porsche is whilst cognisant of the fact that they will never own one.

At least the mental torture of wanting a Porsche and knowing that 6the chavs will never, ever save up enough benefits to own one can act as a minor consolation.

Not as much consolation as dishing out a sound kicking - but there we go.

Personally I believe ten lashes would be a suitable punishment for vandals.

It happened outside my girlfriends parents house. Didn't think it would make a good first impression if i started beating someone up outside their front door!!!! Lets just say he had a lucky escape....if I see him though........

I've owned 3 porkers now and never seen any kind of abuse towards me or my car ( I'm a big lad though )
But you have to understand that Porsche now sell, what? 70,000-80,000 cars a year? Maybe more, and what percentage of those are enthusiasts? 10% maybe a little more. Which means there are over 70,000 to55er5 driving new Porsches every year and unfortunatley average Joe cannot tell the difference between us and them, fact of life, some people buy top end cars just to flash their cash and look cool LOL and like to spend all day cutting up as much traffic as they can because they own the road in their shiny new Porker or whatever they're driving.

How many people on here have posted threads that start, saw a right to55er on the M25 today in the outside lane...blah blah blah?
There are plenty if you search.
Now I know this doesn't give anyone the right to damage another mans car but life isn't perfect and neither are people.

For the vast majority of the time both young and old alike seem to love seeing my car still being used and enjoyed...

However, there is that small percentage of scum out there who makes you nervous to leave your car in a normally safe area. I have left my car in various car parks and parked in most roadside locations around town, then I leave it for a couple of hours in a nicer area in a side street and some scrote decides to put a scratch along the top of my front wing....

Obviously just passing and decided they absolutely must get their keys or a knife out and gouge a scratch in someone elses property...? w@nker$!!!

I'm saying 90% of Porsche owners are not enthusiasts, they buy the car for all the reasons other people think we all buy the car for and create the bad image that gets your car keyed.

Well if you can't read the post properly and want to start an arguement go ahead, but I wouldn't of expected it on here because I foolishly assumed we are all enthusiasts. Maybe I was wrong.

I think if you own an air cooled you are an enthusiast if you have water cooled you may as well have a Cayenne....
