Hmmm - I am wathing this one with interest. Personally, I like the idea of Porsche doing such a car. That photo at first glance reminded me of a SD1 Rover a little. Lets hope that Porsche get the handling/power combo spot on. Also, it needs to be quite light, unlike the CLS Mercedes...

Albeit very muly at this point in time it looks like the Panamera could turn out pretty well. The colour reminds of the 850 Beemer...

Prices from £50-60,000.....then mention of high output V8's and V10's yikes

I would expect this car to retail at somewhere over £75,000 when it eventually goes on sale.

There's a lot of brake inside those front wheels...

Colour doesn't do it any favours

Guess it will do well better if priced to the M5 sector than the 80 grand supersaloon white elephants graveyard

I think the weight thing is important - we all know that if you set up a car to be light, and then weigh it down with people, how it is crap to handle.

This may mean it is a heavy car...

With V8 and V10 lumps I think it will be a 2 tonne car unfortunately, to allow for similar characteristics when laden and unladen!

A few comments from an uniformed bloke (me!)

* The spoiler looks very fussy - hopefully disguise related?
* Yes its bum does look a little big in this. (Again disguise?)
* Those wheels look really bland and uninspiring
* £50-£60k? That's seems to be the right price range at medium spec CSL or BMW M5 money

It's going to have to be really good to take on the M5*

* This opinion is based entirely on TV reviews and is therefore to be taken with a large dose of sodium

It’s heavily disguised, can't really tell the details, just the shape. Looks pretty rubbish

There is something sad about sport cars manufacturers wanting to go into the family saloon market:
Ferrari 612 - hideous
Aston Martin Rapide - A LWB DB9
Maser Quattroporte - just about allright

and now this - the jury is out.

I disagree I think the 612 is far prettier than the maser Quattro.

Having said that I don't like 4 seaters and wouldn't buy either Ferrari or Maserati.

(Although I have a secret longing for a 3200 as a company car)

Im a big Porsche fan but i think that is awful, i think they should leave the 4 doors to bmw/merc/audi.

IMHO....
