Came to need it yesterday and it was flat, ie. no air in it at all, which was disappointing. Granted I have owned the car for 2 years and never checked so I put that down to me being an idiot.

So I pumped it up, realised just how much extra space this created and found that, pumped up, it doesn't fit in its designated space in the boot.

What on earth is going on?

There should be a compressor in the front boot so that you can inflate the tyre when you need to use it. You're right though, it doesn't fit in if it's inflated

.... yup agree with Bliar.

There should be a black box in there about the size of a DVD case and about 3 inches thick with Porsche Compressor written on it, with B&W cartoon like graphics of how to inflate the tyre.

More importantly, you trying fitting the real sized wheel and tyre you just took off the car when you use the spare. You thought the Inflated Space-Saver was an issue.

.. that's why they give you a large plastic bag so you can put it on the front seat - now try fitting your passenger in the boot ... lol ...

on another note - Does the compressor have a 'reverse' button to deflate and collapse the spare once your finished with it ... (I'm going to check mine tonight..) .. hmmmm

It even gets better than that. During a trip in Germany I got a puncture on the rear wheel and had to change wheel. However, once changed I could not fit the old rear wheel into the cabin as both seats had to remain fully reclined so I had to leave it by the roadside.

Arr, there is a black object in the boot... I'll have a look at that tomorrow. Thanks for the help.

Managed to get the 'proper' wheel on the folded down back seats though it required some careful manoevering (sp?).
