Tested a radical sr4 and sr3 today... i know you cant compare a gt3 or gt2 to it on track.. but wanted to see if anyone else has driven them on track....They are some piece of equipment...seriously fast especially the sr3 with the 06 aero pack...!! They make porsches look a tad slow on track....

Would tend to agree - no problems keeping up with them on the straights but come the corner it's game over! But even the road legal versions are really only suited for track work so you pay your money and take your choice.

Indeed - you have to be careful not to get sucked into corners at light speed when following them!

Radicals are so fast on track, but are they rewarding to drive?

Does the novetly of high corner g-force wear off pretty fast?

Honest questions I'm curious.

i've done 10+ days in various race superlights mostly r400's, although not quite radical fast not far off. awesome fun, but like anything you get used to the speed. ultimately frustrating constantly tripping over slower traffic and rarely anyone else to have a tussle with.

before i bought my rs i considered an r500, now i wouldnt dream of swapping. its more fun being the underdog into a corner!

Racing at combe the Radical (SR3s) put in around 1.05s. Slick shod R400 race cars put in around 1.15. Very big difference! You do need to be able to dive past (on either side) to keep the speed up in the corners, hence I can see why a trackday SR3 user would get frustrated - depends of course on who's running the day. I can't see it being a problem on RMA days, however days with loads of jap cars (i.e. my car has X00 hp, therefore I *must* be faster than you) it could prove problematic hehe

hello mate
on a track day there isnt that much difference!
besides thats the point - it gets frustrating in an r400, i guess it would be even worse in a radical.
do rma still do uk days ?

So doesn't that make them "easier" / less rewarding to drive than either a Caterham or a 911

im not sure downforce makes them any less rewarding, i should imagine trickier on the limit which should make it more rewarding to get right ? my point was simply being the fastest guy on a trackday is pretty tedious because of traffic which cant put up a fight .

Not really, although the odd one every so often.

Personally I don't really like being around radicals on track as their corner entry and braking points are so different than they end up diving up the inside just when you are about to turn in etc. Also bloody low so can be hard to see in the mirrors at times.
